Lean

Lean Thinking reflects the adoption of an operating strategy that uses dedicated tools to eliminate waste, improve productivity and enhance competitiveness, with the aim of delivering tangible VALUE to customers.

The lean approach focuses on optimizing the activities involved in operating processes and reducing superfluous controls through correct management of information flow within each company department.

Lean Thinking is based on these basic principles:
  • VALUE: defining what value means for customer.
  • VALUE STREAM: defining the value stream for each family of product.
  • FLOW: designing a flow of activities, materials and resources through the company that must be uninterrupted.
  • PULL: being sure that the flow is driven by the needs of customer.
  • PERFECTION: seeking the continual improvement of processes, through an iterative approach.
  • LEAN SUPPLY CHAIN: the application of Lean principles to the entire logistics chain.
In order to strengthen internal skills, technology becomes subsidiary and not substitutive of human resources; the flexibility and multi-capability of resources are basic concepts compared to specialization.

Through Lean Thinking, Alemea is able to reduce product crossing times, design processes with more productive flows, without waste and with lower management costs, and provide practical tools to control business performance.

We believe that the perfect process should have:
  • The right intention (value),
  • The best method (process)
  • The highest sense of shared interest (people),
since value is entirely the outcome of a perfect process.
